Mise-en-scene blog tasks

 1) Find a distinctive still image and write an analysis of the mise-en-scene. Use each of the aspects you've learned in the lesson.

By the props we learn that this is a horror movie which as got murder in it as  the bloody knife shows that someone has been seriously injured and hurt. The mask also shows how he is trying to hide his identity so we learn that from the mask and the prop weapon that he is a murder. By this we can infer that this movie is for adults (young/middle age e.g. all types of adults) as the props could be disturbing for younger kids.
Again from the setting we can infer that the house has been broken into or been messed up while someone is trying to get in as the table is tipped over and the lamp has fell over it. The bloody writing also show that someone was murdered.

2) Find TWO film or TV extracts on YouTube from different genres (e.g. horror, sci-fi, costume drama). Embed them in your blogpost and write a comparison of the mise-en-scene in each.

the scream and the scary movie opening clips
the scream opening is a horror about a guy with a mask that calls his victims and has a conversation before killing them. The scary movie is a comedy that mocks and mimics the scream and other horror movies .
In the opening scene of scream the guy keeps calling the girl while asking her questions then proceeing to scare her until shes crying and kills her boyfriend which she seees him dead on her front yard. In the first scene of the scary movie its parody and mimics this exact fist scene by making funny comments. the costuming and setting is very similar as it is mimcing however its the same scenery and idea but presented in different ways. One is a funny way that makes the audience die of laughter however the other is a scary scene that keeps the audience on edge nervous. Both target young adults and above as an audience
