Cinematography: blog analysis tasks

  1) Write an analysis of the cinematography in the opening sequence.  Highlight  your use of media language and try to cover camera shots, angles and movement using the terminology we have learned in lessons.  the shots are all high angled to showing that it is cctv kind of shot. there's multiple different types of cctv shots showing the violence, some show close ups of the violent acts and some are from a further angle making it an long shot . there's multiple different types of shots however their is no close up shots which give a sense that it is so violent that it is too harmful and dangerous to be near it. this scares the audience 2) How does the camerawork give the audience clues about the setting, narrative and character? it gives the audience a sense of danger as if the camera cant be close as it is too violent and some cameras have too zoom in showing again how it is too unsafe to be near the the scene at all. its held at a still place and has multiple different sh

Film & TV Language: Sound analysis task

1) Find a film clip on YouTube that uses sound in an interesting way. Analyse the use of sound, making sure you use the key language we have learned about sound in film: https://youtu.be/fjoO5927p80 Diegetic and non-diegetic sound  -non digetic as it is a music sound track Parallel and contrapuntal sound -parallel as it matches the vibe of the scene and the way the characters are speaking. Sound bridges - there is sound bridges from the explanation of who Regina George is and then leads into the individual interviews of the characters describing her there is a sound bridge  Remember to discuss/analyse all the different types of sound present in the clip: Music-a sassy music vibe that matches the vibe that reginas george is described as Dialogue-n/a Voiceover-n/a Sound effects- a couple of pause in the interviews to make it sound more dramatic You also need to highlight or put in bold any use of media language.

WWW: This is a concerning picture after one month of Media. You have only completed one of the tasks required so far and while you’ve picked an excellent still image to analyse the video analysis does not offer much in terms of mise-en-scene. The best we can say here is that this is a valuable lesson in the level of organisation and workload required at A Level – now we need to step up, catch up and get everything posted on time.  EBI: Your still image analysis is solid but for the video analysis you needed a lot more. Firstly, you need to embed the clips from YouTube or at least post links. Secondly, while using an original and a parody is an interesting take on this task it isn’t exactly what was set – I was looking for a contrast in mise-en-scene. Most importantly, the concern is the work that you are missing – the first activity analysing film posters and the video recreation. You have missed repeated deadlines and extensions for the video task and I still don’t have a final versio
