starting off with Mise en scene of the gun in the scene. Tommy (the character holding the gun) holds the gun pointing it at ghost(the character sitting down) throughout the scene. This causes anticipation to rise during this scene as the audience wait to see if Tommy will shoot ghost. Furthermore, during the second half of this clip, Tommy pointed directly at ghosts head leaving the audience on the edge of their seats waiting for the trigger to be pulled. the contrast of Tommy wearing casual T-shirt and jeans while ghost is wearing a full suit, which gives him a classy look can show the difference with how the characters carry themselves and the audience with straightaway, presume that Tommy is the bad character from the way he dresses. The audience may believe that he is a gang member by the way, he’s holding the gun with the way he’s dressed. However, ghost is an armed and is wearing a full suit, which again shows the audience that he may be a good character in comparison to Tommy. The way Tommy is positioned standing up while ghost is sitting on the chair still could show how intimidating he is as Tommy moves around a lot in the scene by walking around ghost sitting down standing up, it builds up the anticipation as the audience are awaiting to see how Tommy reacts as clearly he is on edge. ghost, being completely seated still shows that he may be intimidated and doesn’t wanna make any movements as he’s scared of what Tommy will do. The confused reactions shown by ghost face suggests that he is confused on why Tommy is angry, and when Tommy explains the misunderstanding. He is completely shocked and hurt. You can see this by the reaction of the face. This is as he’s got a shocked look which suggests that he’s hurt and leads to Tommy believe in him because of the reaction he gave. This is all seen by the facial expressions for shown. Tommy is angry facial expressions show that he is very angry and is getting even more frustrated by ghost not understanding what’s going on as he believes that goes knows everything. however, Tommy is still angry, even when he knows that ghosts is telling the truth and is generally confused as well. this is shown by his facial expression and him raising his voice. Throughout the scene, Tommy raises his voice while ghost is speaking calmly this again shows that Tommy has the dominance within the scene. Tommys make up during the scene, makes him look drained pale and tired which shows how angry he is and makes him seem more scary as there seems to be something wrong with him. The lighting in the back is bright as it is during daytime. However, the blinds are shut given a sense of secrecy suggesting that no one should be able to see what’s going on within the house again, cause in an sense of anticipation as there is a strong chance that strong chance will be hurt within the scene. however, the lighting on the characters are a bit dimmer suggesting that there is darkness within the scene behind the characters. this is high key lighting as more filler lights are used. This gives an effect which appears more realistic and Amore dimly lit scene. There are shadows created, and there is a contrast between light and dark, which is much less pronounced. The sound in this scene is non-diegetic as during the scene. There is no music soundtrack until the end where the realisation comes in and it fits the vibe of the scene as the music gives a sense of realisation and sadness that ghost is feeling once he has realised the truth. The sound is parallel as we would expect the music to be accompanying the scene, as it fits the scene perfectly, as the intensity starts to die down when the realisation comes through for the both of them. Throughout the scenes, there is a lot of miss shots of Tommy around ghost holding the gun. This shows viewers the position that ghost is in sheirin that he cannot escape from the situation. There is also a close ups of growth reaction throughout this scene portraying his confusion and there is an close app when Tommy holds ghost face aggressively, and they both come to realise the misunderstanding that they’re in, and the truth. And steady cam is used during the scene where the shots of Tommy is shown. This causes a shaky effect which makes the audience on edge as it gives a feeling of how much Tommy is moving about with the gun in his hand, ready to shoot. Again, this rises anticipation. the shots taken on ghosts are Dolly shot which shows ghost is not moving, and it’s still during the scene. This again shows the audience that ghost is calm and scared of making any movements that would make Tommy react. the shots taken of ghost from a high camera angle which makes him appear weak and scared. The shots taken of Tommy from a low angle, making him appear dominant and dangerous. there is a juxtaposition in the scene where the eye lines match the characters when they are speaking to each other. The shot reverse shot is also used during this scene when ghost is sitting and Tommy is standing again showing off his dominance and power against Ghost. This shot also appears when the gun is held against his head. 180 rule is also used multiple times during this scene.
