Preliminary exercise learner response

 1) Type up your teacher's feedback in full plus a summary of the comments you received from other students in the class.

-i like the opening shot but perhaps an establishing shot from across the street could have been even more 'London'?
-soundtrack is really effective in establishing genre
-editing is strong, nice continuity editing and clear to the audience what is about to happen
-dialogue is unclear-i wonder if this needs to be heard to really develop the narrative?
-I'd like to see a much wider selection of camera shots in the corridor-over the shoulder, high/low angle etc

2) Using a combination of your own reflection on the preliminary exercise and the feedback you were given, write three WWW bullet points and three EBI bullet points for your work.
WWW
-music fits/sets the theme (London urban crime drama)
-actors fit the young characters
-setting fits the genre
EBI
-dialogue hard to hear
-narrative a bit unclear
-conversation could be extended

3) How effectively did you complete the objective you laid out in your mini preliminary exercise statement of intent?
I think that I met the non dietetic sound as I used a background music which matched the British convention. I believe that I got some good shots but during the end of the clip the camera work was a bit shaky and blurry and i should of held it at an higher angle. I didn't meet the time breefing as the clip was meant to be 30-60 secs and my clip was 27 secs. I also changed the first part just to him walking without the phone call and walking out the station however in my actual production he will be walking out the station and i will be re-shooting my clips.

4) What have you learned from the preliminary exercise that will help you in the actual coursework project?
I've learnt that is should film at different angles, especially while watching other peoples clips it showed me how they've positioned there camera angles and given me ideas on how to improve mine. While editing I realised that i need to film longer clips and more angles as i set a lot of the clips which left me only 27 secs in total while i aimed to film 45 secs but once i was editing i realised that i had to cut a lot of the parts due to sound or matching up other clips so that the transitions between the clips looked smooth

5) Now you have completed the preliminary exercise, will you change anything about your actual coursework video plan? This could include your concept, cast/actors and narrative or technical elements such as mise-en-scene, camerawork or editing.

I am going an cross over part to my clip now. Instead of him walking and talking over the phone its just gonna be him walking with air pod making him a bit unaware of his surroundings as he is unable to hear meanwhile the gang members are going to counting the cash and realising that there is money missing, this is where there will be across cover between them scenes.
